I’m curious, how many competitions do you guys have a year?
We have 6 and 2 optional
Last year excluding Worlds and States, we went to five.
This year, we will also probably go to 4 or five, excluding states and worlds if we make it.
We have 3 total , but our teacher will allow us to go to any other comps on the weekends. The problem with this is that there are no other nearby competitions and also no nearby sigs.

How many events did your adults help at?
Last season, my VRC HS team attended 5 events, including our ERC. 3 out of those 5 events were hosted by the same EP, and we saw the return of a long-time EP as the ERC EP (this time at his HS instead of his after-school STEM center). After attending the HS VRC ERC I went back to volunteer for the VRC MS ERC, but was roped into judging for the MS IQ event instead.
This year as a member of a VEXU team I volunteered at our home VRC competition, so that I could travel with the team to out-of-state (OOS) competitions in the spring. We plan on hosting an additional 2 events in the spring (1 VRC & 1 VEXU), and several of our members also volunteer at various upstate tournaments throughout the season as needed.
Hosting events allows our team to give back to the community, but also fundraise money for our OOS events (it’s not cheap to drive halfway across the country and stay in a hotel for a multi-day event!).
