My team have been wondering how many discs you can match load at a time. I have seen multiple teams put one disc in at a time and other teams putting all three in. I have read the rule book and still couldn’t find it. Thank you.
This was covered in Q&A 1216. As long as the drive team member’s hands don’t cross the plane of the field, you could introduce multiple at once.
Hello and welcome to the forums,
This question has been asked on the Q&A linked here
Both of your examples are legal ways of introducing discs into the match given that nothing else in is violated.
3 is max possession so if you can get 3 during autonomous thats legal
I think you are mistaken - can you please cite which Game Manual rules apply here.
SG2: Robots get 2 preloads. SG6: match load discs may be safely introduced during a match under certain conditions. SG7: Possession is limited to 3 discs. check out the rest of SG6 in the game manual, but im pretty sure theres no limit to how manny at a time. at our last tournament, my alliance put in like all the matcgh loads at once and the judges said nothing
I think we both got our wires crossed - I was focused on match loading question that was presented (topic title) then you went discussing autonomous possession which I erroneously thought was referring to match loading during autonomous (which is a hard no).
So sum it up as I recall:
- putting match loads during autonomous - no
- maximum possession anytime is 3
- maximum you can slide on the match loader at a time (11 - 7 match load plus 4 alliance preloads)
- disc may not contact both human and robot at same time
- can’t add significant energy nor roll discs in on their sides.
