How should I go about scouting at worlds?

This is my first year as a semi-competitive team at worlds. I am wondering how I can optimize my time and scout on a 2 person team where I am needed for Matchloading or general maintenance on the robot. The main question that I have is how should I go about it. How do I know what teams to be looking for or watching the matches of. Also, how do I find time to do this on a 2 person team? Should I just be watching matches while sitting in my pit and while in my hotel at night? Thanks, Wyatt 5735H

two person team will be rough. Can you bring friends to supplement team for Worlds?

Welcome to the forum!

You can use vexscouting.com and vrc-data-analysis.com to get some data on the teams in your division.

In order to do your own assessment, you can make a form that lists the features of an alliance partner that are a good fit for your team. Go ~20 minutes early to one of your matches and start taking notes. After your match stay in the stands and continue taking notes until your next match. Doing this will let you see most or all the teams in your division, allowing you to make a short list of those you want to talk to in the pits.

Good luck at worlds.

If you have time, you should also go to your alliance partners before matches and ask them about their robot and autonomous codes. You can make a strategy for your match and/or help them make an autonomous code that can get the win point.

There are also a ton of teams who post worlds reviews on YouTube, so you could do some scouting online to save you time at worlds.

HS Opportunity division. I cannot bring friends to supplement.

In that case, check to see if a team you know is in same division and see if they will help in evaluating robots at Worlds for you.
