I want to count the compile time. But it seems that I have a problem with the location of the code that gets the time
image

Please, try the following method that worked for me:

DEFAULT_BIN = sleep3

all:   print_start   $(DEFAULT_BIN)   print_end

print_start:
	@echo $(shell date +"%Y%m%d%H%M%S")

sleep3:
	sleep 3

print_end:
	@echo $(shell date +"%Y%m%d%H%M%S")

Where sleep3 is a stand-in target for the default $(DEFAULT_BIN) target that compiles your code.

is this possible to do with VexCode?

There’s another problem
image
I set a variable ·START_TIME·
image
image
I cannot assign the acquired date result to START_TIME

@3038922, please, try this version of the makefile method:

DEFAULT_BIN = sleep3

all:   print_start   $(DEFAULT_BIN)   print_end

print_start:
	$(eval START_TIME:=$(shell date +"%Y%m%d%H%M%S"))

sleep3:
	sleep 3

print_end:
	$(eval END_TIME:=$(shell date +"%Y%m%d%H%M%S"))
	@echo START=${START_TIME}
	@echo END=${END_TIME}

@kickthepokehi, I have Linux make and do not know if same method works on Windows make of VEXcode.
