Hi I am trying to build a blocker for Overunder but I don’t know how to approach it. I have built a foundation but don’t know what to put on top of it. Any suggestions?
Robokauz Robotics has a really nice blocker on their fall robot, btw in the future if you have trouble building something or need ideas look on youtube at robot reveals or explanation videos.
Could you elaborate on what the foundation you’ve built is? It’s much easier to help you when we know what you have. Please post a picture of what you already have for better suggestions. Also just to set your expectations, on the forums don’t expect people to design your robot for you. We can help suggest things, but nobody’s going to actually give you a full design. If you want to see some good blockers, I’ll link some youtube videos below with robots featuring very effective blockers.

80508X Over Under Robot Explanation Video
21417A Vex Over Under Mid-Season Robot Explanation
These are all full robot explanations with portions near the end detailing their blockers, and are a great resource for inspiration for your blocker.
Again, for specific help please post a picture of what you already have and a more detailed explanation of what you’re trying to achieve specifically
Hope this helps!
You dont have to go complex if you dont know where to start. You could start with a simple set of sticks with a net in between, lifted by a motor or pistons, and then go on to a more complex blocker. A literal stick would work ok, as long as it has a way to deploy and is positioned well.
No, I don’t have any.
are you middle school or high school?
We are in highschool and this is our first year doing it.
Hey, nice bot but, how does this deploy or retract and extend? Ty
You can put plexiglass on a rack and gear, on a dirct rotation, or on pnumatic pistons. (Putting it on a rotation it is the easiest and most effective)
Better to use a legal plastic like polycarbonate. Plexiglass is specifically identified in the game manual as illegal per rule R18e.
While it seems trivial to point this out, you must realize the OP new to robotics, and might not understand that you accidently said plexiglass instead of polycarbonate. New people often don’t read the manual; and might assume that plexiglass is actually legal because they are trusting your experience, which in this case, could cause a failure to pass inspection.
I never really knew what it was anyway; thanks
