How to cut gears in half

For this seasons drivetrain, I will be needing some half wide gears from 36 tooth gears. Any advice, I have access to a bandsaw.

I recommend making a frame before you cut so it doesnt turn out wonky. This can just be made from c channels, just make sure the gear is snug and wont move and there is a line down which your saw can run straight

is there any reason you couldn’t use the ones that vex already cut in half? (image is link)Gear Kit - (276-2169)

I really don’t want to buy, the 36 tooth only come in groups of 4 only in the gear kit and I need 14 of them.

Sounds like you want to fail with no backups  get 16 … two spares for that time when nothing is supposed to fail - Murphy’s Law.
