My team is using pneumatics to lift the ball. They built a platform powered by pneumatics but it is struggling (slow to lift) due to the weight of the ball and perhaps the placement of the lifting mechanism. Would using two tanks increase the strength?
No, the force of an air cylinder is based on cylinder bore and air pressure. The only thing a second air tank will do is give you more actuations of your air cylinders. You will need to find a way to use leverage to mechanically give more from the air cylinder, or add additional air cylinders.

Add rubber band to help. There’s a Youtube videos showed how much weight the cylinder and lift.
