How to increase fire rate on a flywheel

What are some ways you can increase the fire rate of a flywheel while still allowing it to shoot full field and maintain its accuracy. My team uses a four inch single wheeled flywheel with a 1:35 gear ratio powered by four motors.
please reply…

Well if the flywheel is currently being sent full speed and you want the fire rate to be increased you will need to work on the mechanics of the robot.

If you are currently sending a constant value to the flywheel and want it to recover faster but still settle at the same speed you should look into any of the discussions on flywheel control discussed previously. PID, TBH, even Bang Bang will help you increase fire rate if currently you just say motor = 80;

For a quick fix I would try adjusting the weight of the flywheel and the compression between the flywheel and the backplate if the programming isnt helping

It is actually very difficult for us to give suggestions without enough info.
Maybe you can let us know about your current power setting and also the recovery time?

But off hand, 1:35 seem a bit high for a 4-motor single flywheel.

Your robot was 5 inch wheel 28:1
28*(5/4) is 35 so I think his ratio is perfectly equivalent to your reveal.

Sorry… Didn’t notice that he is using a 4"
