I figured out a simple and easy lock mechanism for intakes to fix nearly all compression issues. The tricky balancing game between strength, being able to bend the intakes back, the bands not snapping, and the arm spreading when the tilter is tilted forwards is solved by a simple lock as seen below or on youtube [VEX Intake Locks]

Compression Loss in Intake Question!

So I have a tray robot, and it is able to pick 8+ cubes. But after picking up and stacking about 2 full stacks of 7 to 8, the intake starts to struggle to pick up the same number of cubes. The intake seems to loose a bit of compression. I know the problem is not the motor, because the motor never stalls. Does anyone else have this issue? What can I do to prevent this from happening?

Compression + tilter issue

What are some ways that I can add compression to my intake?

After about the 4th cube, my intake takes 1-2 seconds to intake more cubes. What are some ways I can go to fix this?

Intake Compression Questions Thread

Our team has a tray bot that can go as low as 30 degrees, and we are working on a tray that expands for room for 14 cubes. I wanted to do some research to see what intake could possibly do that right. Assuming torque is not a problem (can just use 100rpm motors with 12 or 18 tooth sprockets) what are some good tips to help with compression? Roller Intake Compression

Hey Guys! I am having trouble getting cubes up my tray. Im using a bot that has a 2-bar with rollers on the ends of them and a folding tray for them to go into. Right now, however, the bot can only hold 4 cubes at a time before the intake loses the compression to push up another one. Any tips? [20190910_104224]

Increasing intake compression all the time

I see @Sylvie and their guide, however that wouldn’t work on my robot. I have the 448x lock, but reverse. It extends out a lot at maximum making it unable to grab a cube. Increasing Compression on Intakes and Expanding Everything

[image] [image] [image] I’m using an intake where they fold up and i’m having troubles increasing compression so that the intakes are able to pull up 10+ cubes. Currently it can only hold 9 cubes. Additionally, i’m also struggling with expanding everything as my cube rack cant get passed my intakes once it’s folded. Anyone have any suggestions?

Tips on making the smoothest and fastest roller for TT

If you use 18 tooth sprockets, make the rollers almost paralell with the tray, and increase the angle of your tray, you should be able to do at least 12 cubes with enough compression.
