These were our ramp for the states vex V5 robotics competition. It can’t intake rings very efficiently, rings get stuck at the bottom of the ramp and it’s very clunky and slow going up the ramp. It breaks often and is very low to the ground making it hard to get hang, any ideas on how to improve?
You can use the little wheels that are on omni wheels and put it on a axel that runs through the bottom.
I think that FUN Robotics just made a video with a team that uses these as their intake.
Try making the slope a little more curved upwards into the conveyer and put little flex wheels on the conveyer to help the rings move up.
Do you have a link to that video? I watch at least a few minutes of every one, but I don’t think I’ve seen that.

They have little Omni wheel parts on their intake.
I believe that you are talking about what is sometimes called a counter roller. I have a team that just added a counter roller in front of their polycarb ramps and it really improved their intake. (The bottom of the ramps are now higher off the ground too)
Here are a few screenshots from a YouTube video (20605A) to clarify what they are… These were made by repurposing the roller from an older green omni wheel.
