How to reverse turn in vex pros

I have two 1:1 gear ratio for front wheels in order to shift motors back a bit to make space, but after I reversed the motors, well it drives forward and back but the turns are fighting each other, if set back to default chassis the drive is fighting again.

the most optimal solution I have is have 1:1 gear ratio for back wheels too but my teacher insisted to use the code to solve the issue.

You might have to post your code so we can help you better, but did you make sure the motor polarities are set correctly? And by 1:1, you just mean that you used two gears of the same size and connected them (with one on the wheel, and the other on the motor)? I’m just making sure all wheels are spinning at the same RPM.
