So I have a “friend” who thought it would be funny to pair a HS motor with a certain torque ratio for their gimbal. Because they’re sister team’s already understandably stated this as redundant and unnecessary, they just changed it to just a plain and simple torque pairing.
My “friend” wants to know if someone has truly tried this for whatever reason and how it turned out.
My “FRIEND” has a gimbal on their bot because they’re a first year and it’s all that they know how to build in the short amount of time they have before their next comp.
Although, if you’ve any other suggestions my “friend” would gladly take the time to learn how to build it afterwards.
@Korbin I have never tried it for obvious reasons, but I if I understand what you are describing correctly (gearing down a HS motor to be the same speed as a torque motor), I assume it would be just a little slower than a torque motor due to friction
Yeah technically it’s not a gimbal, gimbal’s usually have motion that is independent in all directions of the supporting piece. A chainbar has only one direction that is independent of the supporting structure.
