Hi my name is Spencer and i am very new at the vex competition so i need some help i have a kind of concept of what to do but i don’t know what important things i should take into account so i can compete.
to get started, you should probably tell us more about what your situation is. Are you part of a school or starting a team on your own? are you looking to join an already existing team? Do you have a Vex kit already or are you planning on buying one? There are people on this forum with all levels of experience, so don’t be afraid to ask. Just let the forum know what’s on your mind so people can start directing you to the kinds of information you might need.

The forum is a great resource for any team, at all levels. The amount of information available is immeasurable. Another great idea is to visit a local VRC tournament in your area, and get a general idea how a match is run and you can meet some of the other teams you will be competing with. Most teams are very friendly:) and open to answer any questions you may have.
To answer those questions i am a first year vex and i have vex kits. I have 6 to 7 teams i am one of the students with Natalia school district but i am very experienced in the field of robotics i am helping my teacher out and taking it upon myself to get everything down so i can teach her and the class. We all know how to program with robotC because that is all we use. i am a Jr in high school and we only have done the TECA competitions and we wanted to try something new.
I don’t know where any competitions or anything is for vex i am in south Texas do you know how i can find them and are the competitions far away like out of state.
Texas is actually one of the most populated states in terms of competitions.
You can look at the competitions by location here if you want to know about every competition in Texas.
If you want to see the total VEX competitions in order by date you can look here

As these guys said, it’s a great place to learn and people will help you with almost anything. However, asking a huge group of people you don’t know a bunch of questions can be intimidating. If you need anything and feel like the question could be hard to ask amidst the entire forum, I’d be more than willing to help you. Just PM me. I can explain a lot of the designs upper level teams use and can teach you a few other bits of information I learned along the way.
thanks to all of you but where can i find the main rules of what to do and what not to do or regulations.
This link (http://www.vexrobotics.com/wiki/Skyrise), has all the rules, regulations, and a basic overview of the game.
