I Need help with creating a joint for a arm with out a potentiometer

We need to need to know how to make a moving joint for a claw without a potentiometer.

I assume your using the potentiometer as it as inserts so it turns with the axle? You can put a gear with screws a cut gear with screws in a c-channel or a lock bar.

You can use bearings (pictured below) with the axle inserted through one of the 3 circular holes (ideally the center one) with screws attaching the bearing to your robot.
