Vex should introduce new I2C Line Trackers because, you have to use 4 or 5 Line trackers to be perfectly accurate and, this uses a great number of sensor ports which could be used for other things.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ve added this to our list of potential new products. We will discuss at our next product review meeting and see if this moves onto our development schedule…

Great idea ! Making I2C available for encoders, pots and Line Trackers seems like a great enhancement for most VEX sensors. But more advanced sensors usually comes with a higher price tag.

EFFECTS OF ADDING I2C to SENSORS

  1. reduces the amount of wires
  2. potentially can reduce noise in analog sensors
  3. Increase the cost of sensors

I think it would be really nice to have an I2C color sensor.
