Would it be possible for the slap shot hero robot to put a sensor on it that can calculate the distance of the goal or a another robot to get a perfect pass

yes and no. it would be hard to do the passing idea but the distance sensor if coded can turn a touch led to lets say green to signal you are at the perfect position for low goal. the passing is hard because you cant change the tension of the rubber bands unless you have a tensioner but that breaks very easy.

I’m saying like how would it know to look for the goal and not other things in the arena
Our teammate uses a distance code and it basically says if distance is between these numbers then turn touch led green if not then turn it red so it lets him know the perfect distance from the goal for the low you could also add like a yellow for high the bot however is more challenging because every bot varies
So you would have to just test where your robot can successfully shoot and enter that as the perimeters
