Ideal place to attach c-channel to gear

This is probably a stupid question, but where do most teams attach their c-channels to the gear? I always seem to have a hard time attaching the c channel in a stable way.

The feasibility of this can vary depending on the exact design, but I would say generally the best way to do so would be to (a) attach the middle section of the C-channel and (b) screw it in to at least 2 opposing holes as close to the outside of the gear as possible (such that the axle goes through the C-channel), © using sufficiently long screws, the same spacer spacing on each screw between the gear and C-channel, and threadlocker.

I’m looking to attach c-channels as well, thanks!
