If you did not have pneumatics and wanted a motor share to still be strong would you use a ratchet or gravity gear?

Without having PTO would you use a ratchet or gravity gear and why. (This is my first topic sorry if I did something wrong)

My kids started the season with a gravity motor sharing idea prior to pneumatics. It worked pretty well. Gave them a 3 motor intake and a 3 motor elevator.

The reason they went with a 3 motor and 3 motor system was because they wanted functions to happen in the reverse direction also. If they did a 4 motor and 4 motor system, they wouldn’t have an outtake function.

I hope that helps.

Cheers.

From my expierience a gravity gear might not be the best option, ratchet wouldn’t work though. I recommend a gear slide mechanism.

SO how does that work? The gravity gear 3 motor? how do you have both directions on gravity gear?

They used 4 motors but had one dedicated motor for intake and one dedicated motor elevator and motor shared two motors between intake and elevator. This way intake and elevator can go in the reverse direction with one motor power which is a low load function so it worked fine for them.

Sorry I mean without pneumatics

This is without pneumatics. They used a gravity gear system only in the beginning of the season.
