I don’t know if someone came up with this idea but would it be illegal to ‘accidently’ let on of the cubes fall out the back or the side of the tray and bounce into the opposing team’s stack? I don’t see how this would be illegal as long as you don’t make it obvious that you’re doing it on purpose. The way I see it, the cube just happened to fall out and it took an unlucky bounce that knocked down the stack.
If you do that more than once and you’ll get called on it
Also it’s still deliberate, therefore against the rules. Don’t advertise cheating in the competition forum.
The relevant rule is SG3:
F. Cause Scored Cubes within the opponent’s Protected Zone to no longer meet the definition of Scored (i.e. “knock over their stack”)
Any violation of points E, F, or G will result in a Disqualification, whether the interaction was Match Affecting or not.
Dropping a cube out of the back of your robot and knocking over a stack in the protected zone is still “causing scored Cubes within the opponent’s Protected Zone to no longer meet the definition of Scored”, intentionally or not, which would be an instant DQ, match affecting or not.
I think rule SG7 explains it well
Use Cubes to play the game. Cubes may not be used to accomplish actions that would be
otherwise illegal if they were attempted by Robot mechanisms.
Since contacting the inner protected zone in any way is considered illegal and deserve a DQ, using a cube to achieve the same result will also be a violation of SG3 no matter it is intentional or not
<SG3> explicitly covers accidents as well as intentional violations. Read the rules thoroughly and carefully.
