in the zone mobile goal intake

does anyone have any ideas for a intake that can do both cones, and mobile goals?

Both can be gripped by the indents in the sides. They are also both cone shaped (obviously.) Anything that can intake using either of those properties should be able to intake both if you have enough motors for the mobile goal.
A conveyor belt could also work with the mobil goal’s flat surface, but I’m pretty confident it would tip over some cones before having enough power to intake a mobile goal.

A passive system might behave a single prong latch onto the cone at the top where there is a hole.

Here’s an idea. This was the clubs round up bot (from team 1200 Syntax Error). This is how they carried the mobile goals, they just punched them under the ladder with pneumatic. It’s definitely a good thought

Sorry, but could someone tell me or post a picture of the bottom of a mobile goal?

A mobile goal is the larger cone thingy, that you stack the cones on, and pick up and move into scoring zones.

I was thinking that too, but that wouldn’t be able to pick up mobile goals.

The sides of the mobile goal fit almost perfectly into c- channel

hmmmm… very interesting. I’m thinking that you could have a c-channel sort of claw thing, that can contract for cones, and expand for mobile goals…

I like that idea but how would you go about designing and building that design, what pieces would you use to go about building this.

Probably C-bars and a flip-out mechanism.

I doubt C channels would work well with how well you have to align them and then you need to have a dr4b or something to lift it over the pipe… might work with a funnel… I’d still rather just pop it up with pneumatics
^/ and then the pneumatics fire and it goes like -^-

No, what does the BOTTOM look like?

Not sure if this helps too much but this is what i found

Personally I think rather than thinking of how to lift mobile goals it would be better to think of how to transport them quickly. As stated in the definition of " 20 point zone" only 1 mobile goal can be placed into the 20 point zone at any time. this means that a complex lifting mechanism for scoring in the 20 point zone may be a bad choice compared to use of a smaller intake to help the goals over the 10 point divider. Looking at the annotated views of the field in the rulebook, it seems that the area occupied by the 10pt zone can fit 2 or even 3 well-placed mobile goals. This means that you can earn either the same number of points from a 20 point zone with 2 goals or 1.5x as much with 3 mobile goals (Obviously if the area allows for 3 mobile goals to score. Sure teams will try for the 20pt zone, I mean who wouldn’t want to?! My main idea for the intake was a simple elastic loaded claw-like funnel to shove the mobile goals into the zones. surely then it could just be a case of grabbing cones one-by-one and stacking them?? Also, refer to 1:53 in the official game reveal video on YouTube, notice there are 2 goals in each 10pt zone with what looks like a lot more room for at least another mobile goal to be placed.

its sort of a thick disk… see @RoboCrazy101 's diagram for more info

And it is heavy 3.7 Lb

3.7 lbs! that is heavy…

I guess from my view, 3.7 lbs isn’t that heavy when compared to the 10 LB goals from Round Up.

Does anyone know if the mobile goals are easily dragged? Like what they did in FTC Cascade Effect?
