Individual Pneumatics Kit Parts.

I just wanted to share some information with everyone regarding obtaining the individual parts in the VEX Pneumatics Kits.

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone at VEX for supplying the SMC part numbers for all of the individual parts. I really hope that they won’t be mad at me for sharing this information.

At the advice of someone from one of the teams, I wanted to get an extra resevoir with all of the fittings and a “T” fitiing for my VEX robot. I can’t afford to buy an extra pneumatic kit and I don’t really need all of the other parts. I did some searching and found a local SMC distributer. They were very helpful and the parts (same as in the kit) will cost a little under $30 plus shipping. The resevoir is a custom part and has to be special odered from SMC in Indiana. They will ship all of the parts to my house by UPS Ground.

This company has 2 offices here in the midwest and I am sure that they would be happy to ship the parts to other states. Here is the information that I have:

The resevoir is $23.75 and is a custom made part. It is actually a pneumatic cylinder body that has been capped at each end with the ports added.

The “T” fitting is around $3 and all of the other fittings for the resevoir are around a $1 or less.

They also have a minature regulator with a pressure gauge for only $22. The body is about 1 inch cubed with the knob on top and the gauge on the front side. The gauge has a pressure range of 0-130 PSI. The regulator comes in either a panel or bracket mount version. Unfortunately, it isn’t competition legal.

I hope this information will be helpful to someone else wishing to buy some extra parts for their pneumatics kit too. My kit is suppose to arrive tomorrow and I will probably order the extra parts after that. I was told that it should take less than a week to get them.
