Inspector Gadget 979A will be posting progressively more revealing clues of our robot for the next couple of days, culminating in a full review a few days before worlds. Here is the first clue:
I can’t see an image, anyone else?
I’m not sure if this is what he intended to post, but it looks like the image was improperly formatted.
That was the correct image. It looks like Google sites added a “?attredirects=0” tag to the end that did not permit embedding.
I edited the original post to fix this.
Seems awfully similar to team 62’s teaser.
Here is the picture for today:
I think this means either some form of elevator lift, or a conveyor belt intake.
It could also mean that he only uses chain for wiring, since wires are included. I have a fried who does that. In that case, he could have a scissor lift or something.
I think the 3-wire extenders mean a lift that goes up very high, but with this year’s game, that’s most of the robots :o
The chain might mean a conveyor belt intake.
Wait… in the first pic there are two objects… in the second there is chain and wire…
TETHER BOT CONFIRMED
You might be on to something! …or completely off. Either way, i hope its a tether bot!
tiny “dww” text in the bottom left of the first pic
You caught us! JK, I just forgot to edit that out of the picture, it doesn’t mean anything unless you want it to…
Here is the picture for today:
4 omni-wheel tank drive, with a lift that is not a scissor or a double reverse n bar lift.
If you noticed there is another robot to the right of the one in the picture, and as this robot looks rather light weight, and possibly under powered to a single robot, I too think it is a tether bot, with one robot that is stacked on the other and then flips off at the beginning of the match.
What if the robot next to it is our B team??? They are not attending worlds though.
Here are the parts that I blacked out earlier.
There are a couple parts that have not been mentioned yet.
I will be posting a full reveal tomorrow or monday.
Tether-bot confirmed.
That would also explain the first picture, with the inspector and dog, 2 parts, connected by a leash.
Reinforcing the tether bot idea would be that it needs a power expander, although a lot of teams use one a ‘tether bot’ would almost need the extra power.
I’m loveing this thread it was so cryptic until things fell into place.
I’m actually starting to think that the bot on the right might not be the tethered one. I think it’s probably on the left, since there is the chain and wire coming off the left side of the robot.
