Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what does “compliant” mean?
In this scenario I just mean bendy or deformable
atm I’m working on fine tuning launch angle to try and get the balls to fall into the goal at ideal speeds, because I can’t make my launcher any faster than it is without the balls just hitting each other as they fall into the goal.
Ah ok thanks, the flaps would be bendy though so I’m not sure what you by not compliant then.
Not if there are rods of steel going through them ![]()
I mean I doubt compliance rollers vs flaps being a reason someone lags in robot quality
They definitely wouldn’t be compliant if they were short flaps(lol), but I think tall ones would be pretty compliant.
Are you saying flaps by themselves are compliant, or the idea u mentioned earlier with screws going through them lol
(I wrote above that I agree that flaps are a primitive form of compliance wheel)
the main issue I see with compliant wheels is that the balls will have trouble falling down onto them when you want to descore many balls without having to move back and forth, because flaps create sort of windows for the ball to fall down, where compliance wheels don’t.
The balls go through the flaps cuz they deform by bending. The whole point of a compliance wheel is to deform. I’m a little confused by that argument lol
This ^^^
Ethan leek that cycle speed my guy👀
<1 second
no, like the spacing between the flaps creates a gap for the ball to fall through, if there was no gap, the ball would have a harder time falling down.
anyways, if your intakes are the bottleneck in your cycle speed you need to work on your launcher a bit tbh (not you specifically, just you as in anyone)
My intakes dont have that bottleneck ![]()
Video or it didn’t happen
Uh nah I’m not leaking anything this early lmao
Ill show at worlds promise
alright well until you unveil your op complaint rollers flaps are the best known solution so far.
And until ñ’s cube lock was unveiled,
bots without cube locks were the best known solution
