Intake motors

how many motors did you guys use for intake?

we used one but it didnt work out very well so we dont know if we should do two motors or keep trying to find a better way to use just one.

  1. Rubber band or flex wheel intake doesn’t matter but it’s best to use one 11w motor.

Just to clarify, this post is classified as an IQ post, and OP’s team seems to be an IQ team.

In my organization, the teams here use different types of intakes depending on the design of their robot (e.g., if they’re using some sort of claw, arm, or not), so the number of motors might depend on how you designed your robot in the first place. You could consider using two motors if your intake cannot lift the blocks because there is not enough power, but you should consider other design alternatives anyway (such as changing the design of your intake or other mechanisms). As part of your design process, you should consider many options and, by weighing their pros and cons, decide which one would be the best for your robot and your team.

From the teams that I’ve seen, we tend to use one motor for our intakes instead of two because they use rubber bands to pull the intake rollers into the blocks, which gives it enough force to propel it upwards.

oops sorry yes, thanks for the reminder.

I highly recommend testing a two motor intake if you have an extra motor.
