Interesting! Easy to build! High efficiency! Low cost! Screw as a shaft!

I visited China regional tournament recently, and I found several teams using 2.5in screw as a shaft. It matches round insert of gears or wheels perfectly, and much better for a rotation joint rather than rectangle shaft. And most importantly, east to build, low cost. Here’s some pics.

This is known as a screw joint, and is quite common among teams.

Whos gonna tell him… this has heen arpund for literally ages. People also use scre joints for all kinds of things. Lifts, idlers pretty much anuthing that moves that doesnt need to be driven by a motor or is shorter than 2.5 in

Wow! Tournaments are already happening! Any way this is what’s known as a screw joint a lot of teams use them as it reduces friction. If you want to know how to build one @9MotorGang has a pretty amazing tutorial on his youtube channel about them
