Does anyone know what format to rip DVDs in order to watch them on my iPod.
I have tried ripping by file, but that rips by chapter so on my iPod there are just the chapters, and i have tried riping ISO with makes an exact replica of the disk, but my iPod converter will not convert it into an iPod suitable format. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do?
You are supposed to do the same with the photos. There is some tab at the top of the menu (I can’t remember what it is), something like advanced settings or controls and you have to change a setting for discs to go to itunes first rather than straight to your computer.
I Found a program that rips them right to my compy that is specifically designed to rip in iPod readable format
Its called DVDFab
It is like $50 but if you download the demo it is good for 30days with an unlimited # of rips and when the 30 days runs out I’m going right back to download it again.

Thats a link to download the demo versions.
I haven’t used gold, but platinum works good for what i need it for.
I have a mac and I use a free app called handbrake. You have to rip videos in QuickTime H.264 MPEG-4 format for best quality. Other MPEG-4 and QuickTime movie formats work too I think, but H.264 MPEG-4 takes up the least space while retaining high quality.
I hope I solved your problem. If you need any other help, just send me a message.
