Is a brain not recognising what devices you have plugged into it a known issue?

Not really, explain a bit more about what’s happening. Do they show in the devices screen ? Does changing the cable between brain and device help ?

I had a first gen brain once, it showed a motor being an activated bumper. My current brain also has trouble identifying optical sensors, thinking that they are distance sensors.
