Is an intake going into a catapult better?

Is an intake going into catapult better or a separate intake and catapult? (like ace 229v intake and cata vs supernova calamity 334b intake and cata)

Also, doesn’t having rubber bands as part of the intake increase your chances of it getting stuck on other robots or the net while scoring? Aren’t flex wheels better?

Try it and see…

Part of great engineering is learning what to copy (not necessarily in the hole-count way) and knowing what to improve. You seem to have a good thought process, but as the Einstien once said, “In theory, theory and practice are the same - in practice, they aren’t”.

Often time the difference between high-performing teams is their abilty to go thru the idea-test-iterate loop more times than other teams.

These are all questions you and your team have to answer. Use pro/con lists and decision matrices to narrow down your brainstormed solutions. Very nice brainstorming though!

well sadly im in a school team so i have extremely limited time and we rarely have time to test anything. we only get 4-5 hours per week. : (

I only get one 2hr practice every week. I feel for you. The best way to save time is to do research and make a design before the season starts for you. I walked into our first practice with a full CAD file and 30 pages of notebooking.

CAD :sparkles: (20characters)

sometimes, separate systems like supernova calamity 334b, offer better efficiency and control
using rubber bands in the intake can sometimes cause issue, like getting stuck on other robots or the net
flex wheels can be a better choice for smoother operation
