So far, many of the people I have seen on the forum think this game is very similar to Round Up. Am I wrong in thinking that this will be played nothing like Round Up? During Round Up rings were placed on stacks of one color with a higher possession limit, so people would just pick up the entire stack with a claw. That’s just not going to work this year because of possession limits and alternating color stacks. I’m thinking this is going to be more similar (at least in robot design) to Tipping Point, with conveyor belt robots. It’s impossible to predict successful designs in the future right now, but I don’t think they’ll look anything like Round Up…
Am I missing something here?
The guy in the game reveal video said that it was a remastered version of the EDR game, Round Up.
Round up, with aspects of gateway,
We had mobile goals way before tipping point.
Scoring is different, but the essence is roundup.
see team 44 highlight reel.
For those of us that have gone through Round Up, Gateway and Tipping Point, it is definitely as mentioned by @jpearman - Round Up + Gateway.
Conveyor belt approach for the intake is just the design and mechanism, which by the way, has been used by many other seasons’ games as well.
In terms of game design, it is definitely elements of Round Up and Gateway.
We actually are gonna start with a tipping point-spin up hybrid intake. It has the conveyor and flex wheels.
(The cad is misleading, it is only a 6 motor drive. The stacked motors are powering the intake)
