As the title says, it would be really nice if we could set a brake mode with non-blocking functions but I haven’t been able to find a way to do so. Am I missing something or is it impossible to change the brake mode?

The motors holding after an internal PID position move is part of VEXos and can’t be changed with user software at this time. The ways around it are either writing your own position PID or watching for the motor to finish and overriding the hold when it does.
