Is V5 shafts and IQ Shafts The Same?

Can you use v5 shafts for IQ Competition?

Hello @OneDegreeNorh_6546W,
I don’t think you can as it is against the rules to use parts that aren’t certified for that competition. Furthermore, even if it was legal, the axle widths are different, so it wouldn’t fit properly.
Hope this helps!

Check the game manual:
Rule R7b - only 1/8" shafts from V5 product line.

R6a -i- gives a link to a full list of competition legal parts
and
R6a - ii- a link to a full list of illegal parts

Happy building!

I think this previous discussion may help

The legality of parts is listed on the products’ pages of the vexrobotics.com website. For example, here is the shaft page, with the legality notice circled in red:

As kmmohn showed, Vex Drive Shafts are legal for IQ, EXP, and V5 competitions. Remember you can check the legality of all parts by going to the vex website and searching for the part.

You can use some iq parts in vex v5. One of them is axles and another one is sprockets and chains(that was a nebraska teams team name). I see a ton of teams use 6p for their linking of hooks and intake because the chain is smaller and so are the sprockets.

No, you are not allowed to use the IQ chain and sprockets in V5RC.

They are referring to the 6P sprockets, which use IQ chain.
