You can just use the current gyro in the V5 brain legacy ports.
Yes, a 3-axis one according to this page: https://www.vexrobotics.com/v5-architecture.html , but there is no indication of when. A year from now? Two years? You’d need to get inside information from VEX on that one. In the meantime, do what @Cameron said, which is what is stated on this same site I linked to above.
