On the teams list for HS Worlds, it suddenly jumps from four number teams starting with 8 to five number teams starting with 8, then continues with five number teams starting with 9 before jumping back to four number teams starting with 8.

The list usually has slight mainly visual issues around this time. I think will sort out by worlds, and even if it doesn’t as long as your team number is registered you should be fine. You can also export the xlsx file and reorder the numbers however you’d like.
What I usually do to sort team numbers is create a column with a formula like =LEN(A2)-1, where A2 is the reference to the cell containing that row’s team number, and that formula will give me the number of digits for that team number by calculating its length and subtracting 1 for the letter. =LEN(A2) would work, too, if you prefer. After that, I sort by team number (which will put all the ones starting with 1 together) and then by this new column (which will move all the ones with 3 digits above the ones with 4 digits, and so on).

union rep here. We have all available Hamsters on the wheel here. It’s not helpful to hit refresh every 5 seconds. There are just two guys from RECF making entries on the front end for teams. We think they are hunt and peck typers ( no disrespect to the 
Chickens Unions). So be patient, you will find out in plenty of time to rebuild your robot 
twice before Worlds)
