You seemed to have difficulty getting it off. Do you have a mechanism for doing so?
Yes there is a release. That was a demonstration of it’s ability to hold them during rough interactions. That is the first gen, the current one is smaller, lighter, and more reliable.

Is it passive release as well?

@meng it is not a passive release. The release was originally designed to use a piston but they are really big,so we are trying to use a servo instead(they’re light and not much torque is required), but it could use a motor if necessary. Is there anyway to reduce the stroke length of pistons? We are waiting for the machine shop class to finish modifying some parts so we can build the new version. There is no plan to give away the details until we have a bullet proof device.
