Hello, I am moving in about a month to O’Fallan, Illinois. Turns out the new school does not have a vex team . I’ve been reading around and couldn’t really find a good answer to my questions. I want to join a vex team, and I understand creating my own is an option but its not cheap whatsoever. I know I can join other school teams I am just not sure they would accept. Another option which for me is the most reasonable is joining a private team, is their any website or anything where I could find teams, and anybody with experience joining a private team? Thanks so much.
Go ahead and check the attached link for a map (be sure to adjust the filters to just V5RC, although the map will show both HS and MS teams) of nearby teams to your area. f you need help connecting with a local team (school or private) I’m sure the RSM (Regional Support Manager) for Illinois could assist you in finding/connecting with a nearby existing team. And yes I’m sure many teams would be happy to let you join if you are truly interested. Also yes private teams are expensive to start and maintain (we spent 10,000 our first year with sigs and worlds, etc. so not average but it can get up there) so I would recommend joining one, good luck!

You might want to ask around on the forums and see if anyone wants you to jion theirs.also talk to your teachers and try to get them to add a league, its going to be tough but its still posible. Good luck

Hey whats up, Im david from 499A, were centered in Mundelein IL.
i belive the only private club that takes members from everywhere would be fox valley robotics, aka FVR.
this is their website, there is a 500 dollar reg fee but there are plenty of benefits, one of the 355 mentors will probably at some point respond here if they get to see this topic.
Good luck in High Stakes!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. I will definitely take a look.
