Does anyone know if a team competes at a JROTC Invitational event only without a award, does that team get invite to the JROTC National Championship? Or does that team need to earn a award?
Most awards would qualify for the national championship if it was just JROTC competing. If you didn’t win an award you wouldn’t qualify for it through an award but you could qualify for the National Championship through your skills score. Hopefully, I see u there

While I’m not entirely sure how JROTC competitions work as we’ve never had enough teams to fill one in our area, you’re pretty safe to bet you’ll get into nationals as long as you’ve run skills and have a score in like probably the 60’s+, which is very easy to do. Overall, just don’t stress too much about it, if you’re a decent team making it is very easy. Sorry for the late reply, and hope to see you all there!
Our team went to JROTC nationals last year, since we qualified by winning our first Spin Up tournament. However, this year, we haven’t won any awards at competitions. Since we’re ranked 23d out of all JROTC divisions for skills, with a combined score of 183, I was wondering if that would usually be high enough to receive an invitation for nationals. Thanks, and good luck at nationals!
It should be. I’m new to the JROTC league so I can’t say definitively, however it has 160 slots and most of them are invited purely through skills runs. There are currently 127 slots open for nationals, so I’d expect that you have nothing to worry about at all.
Thank you! I’m really looking forward to seeing if we get an invitation!
Sure thing, we’d be happy to see you all there.
