Now to those of you involved in the FRC competition this year i would like to throw out an extreme idea. As you guys know, the new cRIO controller is being used by all FRC teams. Along with this highly sophisticated new controller comes a new coding software by the name of LabView. I have had the chance to program the cRIO with LabView and i am very impressed by its high level of sophistication and ease of use. EasyC Pro, MPLAB, and ROBOTC are all incredibly versatile and great programming platforms no doubt about it, but the thought of being able to program Vex in LabView would be incredible.
I understand that LabView might be a bit (haha more than a bitā¦) overkill considering its an incredibly powerful programming tool, with the ability to calculate taks within the microsecond range and analyzing realtime images, but the idea of just testing/debugging a vex system with this software would be great (especially debugging, LabView front panel is EXCELLENT). Plus i am almost 100% sure that there is no chance of making this software work with the vex system since the PIC processors onboard the Vex are not compatible with the software. What do you guys think of LabView and this unattainable dream? but who says its impossibleā¦ whos up for a challenge lol
