Lack of Motors for Subsystems

I have researched on creating a robot for Over Under and see 6 motors recommended a lot for driving. But using 6 motors would leave only 2 left which would be enough for an intake and catapult but not a lift for endgame. does someone know how you would be able to power a lift or is it worth changing to 4 motor drive.

This all depends on your robot priorities. My robot priorities are not a lift, so I am going with a 6 motor drive. If one of your main priorities is elevation, then switching to 4 motor drive to leave 2 motors for elevation is a good idea. :+1:

You could also do a 6 motor drive but use 4 11-watt motors and 2 5.5-watt motors, making it a 55 watt drivetrain. this will give you a stronger drive then 4 motor drive, while also leaving you with enough motors for a lift and other things. For example my team uses 4 11-watt motors and 2 5.5-watt motors on our drivetrain, 2 11-watt motors on our lift, and 1 11-watt motor for our puncher.
You could also look into motor sharing and pto which would allow you to use the same motors from your drive on your lift.
