Sorry about that, I didn’t intend to contribute to the discussion negatively. Adding onto what I said, the rule is SG8b which was stated by Gigabyte but I accidentally glossed over it when skimming the thread.
Learning a lot about consistency, have one comp then hopefully states. Since mid season we have had 1 comp, which went unfortunate. Our programmer wasn’t able to be there and of course that’s when we get issues with software, not the other times in testing or other comps. We also had 2 screws fall out on some point during the 2 hour ride i guess. Didn’t find where they went till lunch, so we went 2-4. Made an upset by a corner play, then lost because our battery fell out, while a disappointing end to such a big year for us (15 years in robotics as a club, 10 years in VEX, and 5 years hosting comps, we have made it to state but not worlds, we were kinda hoping to start that on such a perfect year as a club) we have hope for next comp and skills, it’s probably the most competitive comp in our region so well se how it goes. If nothing else I’ve learned a lot and that’s really what’s most important to me. At the end of the day even if we finished poorly I still spend 16 purely caffeine fueled hours (I had to wake up at 4:30 to make it on time…) hanging out with friends, having fun, getting to use my knowledge for fun and not books, and eating junk food, that’s a win to me. I forgot the exact quote but it was something along the lines of “sometimes in life it’s not about where you ed up but how you got there” and that stuck with me, plus it applies pretty well to note booking in VEX. With so much stress in school and pressure in my life, FIRST and VEX are safe spaces that make me feel welcomed, and it truly has changed my life for ever. I could not be more thankful to be in such a good spot with such good people doing such a good thing.
this is our robot til states, advice welcome
I’d trim down those shafts on the sides, especially that really long one otherwise looks pretty good.
I would use L-channels on the cross bracing insted of the flat metal. Also, make sure the shafts arn’t sticking out like that (I’m sure you’ve already done that. Otherwise, looks good!
Which is fine.
If they touched the tiles on the other side of the line, not fine, which I think is what you meant. As always with auto, it doesn’t matter what you meant for it to do, it’s what did it do.
Thanks, we did that, this photo is from a few weeks ago.
My crew has been doing rather well this season, with awards being won at every comp we’ve attended other than the first one… We’ve been skills champ, tourney finalist, tourney champ, excellence award winner 3x (gunning for 4x), we semifinaled at UIL state, and got second in skills there. This year has been our best season yet, and we’re hoping for Worlds this year.
May I ask why you are not using a gear ratio?
We’re doing 600 rpm direct, so we didn’t feel the need to.
I’m curious as we drag closer to worlds, and with Qualifying events finishing, how everyone’s season has gone/is going
For my team personally, we are ramping our robot up for Ohio states but I’m curious for you all!
bruh got design at Singapore nationals, and is going to worlds.

Are those hot swap 5.5w motors?
This season is going pretty well for BOB.
The highlight of our season was probably this moment, https://www.youtube.com/live/u1vGrACctgM?si=GdigjEbaJ0wwGTVn&t=8795 (bottom wall stakes) This whole match was a huge upset against two of the best teams in the state going into the day and the crowd reaction was amazing. We ended up going 7-1-2 in quals, ending up in 6th (the highest we had been all season). We then allianced with 1755K and won quarterfinal becoming worlds qualified. We also beat the first seed in the semi-finals (our sister team). Both our autons messed up for finals but at that point we we happy to have made it that far.
We have gotten an award at every competition we have gone to (2 innovate, 2 design, and we made it to finals at Illinois State Championship).
This is BOB.
yea it looks like it, i dont know how reliable that is but it might work
yeah they are, didn’t wanna risk anything.
may I ask why you guys decided to use XDrive?
