Led light strips legality?

So my team wants to add fully addressable led lights ( WS2812B) to our robot and have it connected to the brain directly. I just have a few comments and concerns that maybe someone can help me with. First, will the brain have enough volts to power a 5V strips of lights. Second, would plugging the light strips into the brain be against the inspection rules in any sort of way.

The Brain should have enough power to power the lights and if the lights have no other functions than just decor it should pass at inspection.

You can check out the Q&A that answers this here.

And you can see a guide on how to implement this on my website.

If the lights are solely for decoration, then the robot should pass inspection. As long as it is on the robot, either way (decoration or not) it should be allowed, as long as it stays within or on the robot. I don’t see how it would be needed for function, but if you need it, it should be allowed. If it is for decoration, it should be allowed. If there are any more questions, let me know, I will research this more in the Manuel to make sure! :star:

Untrue, you’re also allowed to use them to give the driver visual feedback.

As I said later in the reply, “I don’t see how it would be needed for function, but if you need it, it should be allowed” If you’re going to argue, make sure you read the entire reply please! :star:
