We are using the VEX EDR cortex in conjunction with the PLTW 3.1.7 Machine Control Design to design and build a small elevator to go between 3 floors. We have the building and coding done, but the LEDs that tell you what floor you are on keep on coming on and drawing power, albeit very little, even when we program it to be off.
Are you using EasyC or RobotC? Check to make sure that the ports are designated as outputs rather than inputs. In EasyC this is done in the controller configuration window. Not sure about RobotC
