Legality of bankshot field elements

My team wants to use some of the pieces from the bankshot game for this year’s game, and we were unsure about their legality. We don’t know if they’ve ever been released in the hexbug line, or elsewhere. The two parts particularly in question are the white 0x2 connectors used to hold the ball corrals down. These are wonderful little pieces, and are quite handy for attaching pieces together in difficult to reach situations. Are they legal to use in competition? If they are, is there any way to get some more of them? The other piece is the 1/2" PVC connector. These were used in bankshot to hold the pipes that made the fence. My team wants to use them for wire management. Are they legal?

Can’t state about their legality, but both parts are available in some HEXBUG models. Both of them are available in Handoff ball machine, but only 1 0x2 pin is in this set! Some kits are barely better (the standbeast has 4 0x2 pins but is expensive). It would be really nice if VEX made a “special pins” kit…

Thank you, Philo Hurbain. We don’t have any of the hexbug kits, so we don’t know what’s in them. But, from this, and from rule R6D:
d. Mechanical/structural components, aside from those excluded below, from the VEX Robotics by HEXBUG product line are legal for robot construction. However, electrical components from the VEX Robotics by HEXBUG product line are illegal for robot construction. The following mechanical and structural components from the VEX Robotics by HEXBUG product line are excluded i. All rubber bands

It seems to be that these parts are legal. Yeah!

We don’t have any of the hexbug kits, so we don’t know what’s in them

You can download HEXBUG building instructions (with part lists) here: http://www.hexbugvex.com/

Aloha DaddyCrusader,
In general, if the parts you are wondering about are for sale in HexBug kits or on the VEX IQ product website and they are intended for the construction of robots then they are legal. It is important to keep in mind, by definition there are Robot Construction parts, Field Elements and Game Elements. Although some parts crossover into these other defined areas it cannot be assumed that just because they are used there that they are legal parts. The true measure of if these parts are legal are if the marts in question are intended for the construction of robots and found in the VEX IQ product listing and in the HexBug kits.

This would be a great activity for the kids to research if they are looking for specific types of parts. HexBug kits do a great job by providing the build instructions.

Best of Luck!!
