We were needing clarification if we can use the EXP omniwheels for our VEX V5 robot. Rule R6 says
Robots are built from the VEX V5 system. Robots may be built ONLY using official VEX V5 components, unless otherwise specifically noted within these rules.Teams are responsible for providing documentation proving a part’s legality in the event of a question. Examples of documentation include receipts, part numbers, official VEX websites, or other printed evidence.
Products from the VEXpro, VEX EXP, VEX IQ, VEX GO, VEX 123, or VEX Robotics by HEXBUG* product lines cannot be used for Robot construction, unless specifically allowed by a clause of or “cross-listed” as part of the VEX V5 Product lines. For example, Flex Wheels and VersaHubs are VEXpro components that can be found on the VEX “Flex Wheels” page, and are thus legal: Flex Wheels - VEX Robotics.
However, I have not found any omniwheels “crosslisted” on the EXP page. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place, but it would be greatly appreciated if I had another opinion on this. Thank you a lot!
What exactly do you consider to be the ‘EXP omniwheels’? That is - what is the SKU number on the exact omniwheel that you are trying to determine the legality of? I don’t see any omniwheels that are listed specific to only EXP, and I’m not sure what makes the omniwheels you are interested ‘EXP omniwheels’ vs ‘omniwheels listed on the Vex products page as for EXP & V5’.
The main omniwheels I see on the products list indicate clearly at the top ‘Works with EXP / V5 products and accessories’ and are ‘VRC, VEX U, VAIRC legal’; they also show up on a search for ‘competition legal’ VRC products… Vex products - wheels
