Line tracking sensors

If the line tracking sensors are too far away from the surface we are using, would this not allow the robots to move their motors?

Can you explain the question better?

Sure, sorry.

I had two student last Friday try to use the line tracking sensors. Where they have them located if further away from the floor than what is shown in the video. They can pick up values in the sensor debug window. Yet, when trying to run their program, this robot will not move forward at all. You can hear the motors humming, meaning that it is trying to run the program. Didn’t know if the distance from the surface made this much of a difference?

Okay can you post the code? Post what ports everything is plugged into. A simple line following program even getting improper line sensor readings probably runs at least one motor so I think something simple is wrong.
