List of teams who qualified through the CA State Championship?

With the CA State Championship for High School and Middle School ending yesterday, my team was wondering if a list of the 36 teams who qualified to Worlds from these tournaments could be posted. We are particularly interested in the top ten skills teams that qualified given that some of the teams in the top ten “double qualified” at State. We would appreciate it if something was done similar to this post by Rick Tyler: https://vexforum.com/showpost.php?p=349152&postcount=1

At the competition, we were given the Middle School Design Award.

I wonder what happened?

I do not see the awards posted at http://www.robotevents.com/california-state-championship-for-ms-vrc.html yet. I would not worry until the official results are online.

We’re more concerned about what teams the final 10 spots are going to be allocated to. There isn’t much time left to sign up for worlds so we’d like to know as soon as possible.

Last year at states the lady at the skills table didn’t even count the score and just reset the field. we think it would have been high enough to have qualified us for worlds. So I would have my fingers crossed.

@Team83 it says you were awarded the judges award on robotevents.com

Yes…we got Judges Award too…and the 2 trophies to show.

I’ll take your word for it
I just don’t know how robotevents could mess up on something so big like a state competition

Congrats Team83!

By the way, people at a competition upload the results entered from Tournament Manager to the RobotEvents website; I don’t think the website messes those things up.

Unless I’m mistaken, I thought you can only get one judged award per team?

Could be that two teams got Design Award and Tournament Manager only allowed one to be uploaded?

That’s what I thought  But multiple times this year (at least in IN), teams have won both the Design and Excellence award at the same competition. Weird, but okay.

Nope.

TMS does not care how many awards are won per team.

Yeah that’s how it’s supposed to be (at least from what I know). At the California State Championships this past weekend, my team (5327B) ended up getting both Excellence and Design. We talked to the event managers later and found out that since we could not officially receive both, the Design Award would go to the second place team for that category (which happened to be 5327A).

While it is unusual to earn more than one judged award, it is not against the rules.

I highly recommend reading The Local Judges’ Guide if you are interested in how awards are determined as this is one of the primary documents the judges used and says more on the process than appendix D of the manual.
This line in particular is relevant to the current discussion.

It is suggested here that judges should avoid giving a team multiple awards, but they still can if they want as many events have in the past. From my memory there was once a clause saying that teams who win the excellence should give up any other awards, but that has not been there for Sack Attack or Toss Up.
