Hi, I am starting a V5 team in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. We are looking for sponsors so if you can help us or know anyone we would be very grateful.
Also my team has competed in the past in IQ and we have made it to worlds playoffs.

A tip from my team finding worlds sponsors: trying to find companies to sponsor you that you have connections to or are known for sponsoring robotics teams will give you the most results.
Good luck in high stakes and in finding sponsors.
I agree with what Adam from 5062f said. Reaching out to local businesses that are stem-based is how my program was able to send us to worlds this year and last year. You should also see if any large companies are acting as philanthropists and are trying to better the community. Jockey, the underwear and clothing brand, sponsors a few vex iq teams that I help coach in my free time. I think they also give our vrc program money too but I don’t remember
Just googling small engineering/tech companies near me is super helpful. Philly is kinda big, so I’m not too sure how to go about finding big (and rich) companies trying to better the community.
Those are good suggestions… but personal connections tend to do better. Ask your parents to speak w/ their bosses, businesses they work with, etc.
I’ve never turned down sponsorship requests for kids of my friends/business connections.
A limiting factor is that vex is the SOLE source for parts. If I were looking for related businesses… I’d look for t-shirt shops and other places that sell supporting goods/services. Local home depot since I see a LOT of Ryobi equipment at matches.
Hey, I’m also in the Philly area and have looked for sponsors in the past. In general, I would avoid electronics companies, and stuff like those – they generally want to give you the parts which doesn’t work for VEX.
Honestly, i’ve found small businesses (STEM or otherwise) pretty helpful. My first sponsor was actually a local bookstore. Oftentimes, these businesses won’t give you a ton of money ($100-500), but anything helps, so…
Also look for any places that sponsor little league teams and other activities like that. There’s a lot of places that do that (at least in my sub-area) and they’ve been more likely to donate.
