!!!lost Please Help!!!

OK I AM SUPER NEW TO VEX AND I KNOW HOW TO BUILD THE SQUAREBOT BUT NOW HOW TO I BULD SOMETING ELSE?? HOW TO I PROGRAM SOMETHING?? WHAT DO I DO??

NOTE: I AM YOUNGER THEN MOST VEX BUYERS YUNGER THEN 15 AND 14

In order to program you need the programing kit and that comes with directions on how to use it. If not google it and I’m sure you’ll find tutorials. To build other stuff there aren’t really directions you have to build whatever you want let your mind lead you. Just start putting stuff together and see what happens.

Vex is all creativity i try to build robots or mechanisms that no one else has before, use your imagination. There are few limitations with vex and the sky is the limit, litterally. You can build anything. There are many threads on this web site about this topic search them and the internet.

As far as I understand, to program the robot, you need to know C. I don’t mean to offend you or anything, but I really don’t think you should start there.

As far as bulding other things, just view the gallery for more ideas and pick out something you like and build it.

Howdy!
I tried posting earlier but for some reason it wouldn’t let me. It’s been said many time son this forum that Vex doesn’t have any plans on producing any type of schematic booklet for building. But thats ok this isn’t LEGO’s. I had the same problem with my vex system. You see I got mine after I saw this wonderful magazine called Robot, and they had this really awesome article with the Mythbusters in it. A Huge fan of the Myth busters I went to Radio Shack. At that time nothing was on sale then a few weeks it went 100$ off the price for the starter kit so I bought one. Then droped a few hundred more in the later weeks for almost 2 to 4 of everything except started kits only got 2 of them. So anyway I tried to dupe that robot they did. I was over whelmed with programming. Then I found a site that showed the first vex proto-types. The Mars Rover! I so had to do it. ( reminds me i need to post those pics too ) And again I ran into a problem. Programing 6 wheel drive system. So I took it apart. Was bumed out so I started with the manual and I built the square bot and then started adding all the other sensor projects to it. It helped me understand a bit more than what I do but I’m still afraid to program. But What I want to get at is don’t let that stop you from building. I have a very creative work I get to see alot of devices and robots all the time and they are always giving me ideas to add to my vex kit or build. So Build everything you can learn the best way to assemble. Here is a list of bots I’ve built to give you some Ideas.

Square bot
Mars Rover V1.0 Operated VERY difficult with 6 Channels only
Mars Rover V1.5 Never programed it so no field test.
Big Rig Truck V1.0 This was a blast even made a detachable tralior
hauled a 25 pound bag of dog food around the
house.
Tank V.5 Mythbusters stair climber. ( not programed, not driven)
Tank V1.0 Just a tank fram no turrent or accessory
Tank V1.5 Moveable Turrent poth pitch and rotation.
Tank V1.6 Cherry Picker crane.
Big Rig V2.0 Added differentials ( still in progress )
4WD with 1 Motor Fun but no steering. will work on that in the
in the future again.
3 Joint Arm Bot Favorite Project 3 jointed arm atop of a tank platform.

Now alot of this stuff requires extra stuff that doesn’t come witht he started kit. I understand your pretty young so have you parents help you out if you need to use power tools but i don’t recomend cutting any of your metal parts till you get at least 1 more metal kit. Just remember even though you don’t have a programing kit doesnt mean you can’t have fun building. If you build it you will learn. If you have questions about how something works we can tell you what it does and how it works.

ok i dont know why i called it --lost please help-- because most people who read this dont understand what i mean—i dont know how to use easy c program please help me!

Easy C is not overly easy to learn the programmers for our high school vex team learned it in about 3 weeks and we worked on it 3 hours a day 2-3 days a week. The program is fairly difficult to use even if you follow the directions and you can probably forget about using sensors not to mention you have to drop $50 for the programming kit.

i just found how to work it in less then 2-days:cool:
