Louisville Bats game -- anyone does this before?

Hey everyone,

I am the coach for 9409 and this is our 4th time at Vex Worlds now. Having done Kentucky Kingdom 3 times now on the Saturday, I was discussing with the students the idea of going to the Louisville Bats game on the Wednesday after the 1st day of access to the Expo Center.

It’s only $16 USD and you get a hat, hot dog, and pop, in addition to your game ticket (obviously).

Has anyone does this in the past? I know this option existed last year, but we went out for dinner instead.

Also, when it comes to transportation to the Bats game, are there coaches to this from the hotel zones, or are you on your own as far as getting there?

Thanks Vex Forum!

My team went in 2017, and it was okay (we didn’t get a hat though :frowning: ). The food isn’t anything spectacular, and there aren’t a lot of options from what I remember, but you do get a great view of the field from where you sit in the special seating area. Not long after the game started, it was put on rain delay (despite the weather starting off nice as you can see in the picture), and it didn’t look like it was going to stop raining anytime soon, so we just left and explored the town in addition to crossing over the Big Four pedestrian bridge which was a lot of fun. Anyways, for $16 it would probably be worth the experience, especially at that price, but for me, I probably wouldn’t go again after going the first time. Also, I believe you are on your own for transportation. Hope this helps.

We went 2 years ago, its super fun, I would really suggest it.

This may not be the best place to post this, but a group of Ohio teams was talking about going to see Avengers: Endgame that weekend and preordering tickets at a specified theater. I don’t know if anything became of those plans, but I thought it was a good idea.

We called and they aid there is no bus parking.

I’ve been to bats games a couple of times with youth groups and stuff, and it is a good experience. However, there are better experiences even in Louisville, like Main Event or Malibu Jacks. But, it is a VERY good option on a tight budget.
