When teams stack motors for the drivetrain on top of each other how come they use low strength gears instead of high strength gears. Is it just preference?
Usually (at least for me), stacked motors have tight spaces, and LS gears are thinner than high strength gears, enabling them to fit in tighter areas.
But overall, it’s mainly a preference for me to use LS gears if possible because it makes your drivetrain thinner (more center space for mogo mechs and intake) and don’t really need the strength aspect that HS gears offer.

there is also slightly less friction due to there being a smaller contact patch on the ls gears
