Making a clamp with out motors and locks into place with the pole

We have no idea for hanging on the pole and we try using claw bot and can get the bot to go up and the motor does not have enough power to lift the clawbot

Welcome to the forums! As I do not have your robot, I can not test different solutions for you. However, I can give you some thinking points.

  1. The clawbot can not lift itself. With the regular claw and the regular arm, that’s just not going to happen. You need to make your own clamp for the pole and your own arm that is much stronger.

  2. Elevation is NOT a must. If you cannot possibly get an elevating robot, don’t sweat. If you excell in scoring or in defense, that will make up for a lack of elevation.

  3. There are tons of resources in elevation, do some research. This is a very popular one. Also just scrolling YouTube for bot designs is a hobby of mine.

I hope this post helps you find your way in the wide world of VEX!

Its helpful if you ask more specific questions. Are you trying to grab the vertical pole or the horizontal pole? The video above starts with clamping on the vertical pole.

There are alot of great resources on youtube. Thats where I would start if I were you.

vertical pole the pole we are trying to make a clamp for

Check out robomonkey16610, this youtuber has a video that shows a simple but amazing clamp.

You could also just use a passive clamp and attach it to a motor on the back of the robot.
